Mission:
The Mission of the County of Galveston Economic Development Department is to proactively recruit and attract economic development opportunities and new businesses to Galveston County and the Cities in Galveston County, develop and implement a Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) program, support the development of public infrastructure, and serve as an economic development information clearinghouse for the County, Cities, and County businesses.
Strategies & Objectives:
- Market Galveston County, the Cities in Galveston County and area assets to new prospective companies.
- Work with the City EDCs in Galveston County and with Businesses located in unincorporated Galveston County to facilitate Business, Retention and Expansion (BRE) of existing businesses to provide job opportunities for Galveston County residents.
- Attract desirable targeted industries and businesses to Galveston County and the Cities in Galveston County.
- Enhance economic diversification in Galveston County and in the Cities in Galveston County.
- Promote Galveston County and the Cities in Galveston County to area real commercial real estate brokers, site selection consultants, economic development allies and potential companies to compete for economic development projects.
- Together with County departments, Cities, and community and regional stakeholders, advocate for a positive County business climate, and build awareness of Galveston County and City economic development assets, and economic development incentive programs.
